If you sell wholesale on Shopify B2B, your pricing does not live in one place. Each catalog carries its own price list, and each price list carries a price and a compare-at price for every variant. A store with 400 variants and six catalogs is maintaining 2,400 numbers — and the admin asks you to review them a handful at a time.
This guide shows how to pull all of those numbers into one Google Sheet, edit them the way you would edit any price list, and sync the result back to Shopify.
Why the admin struggles with catalog pricing
The B2B catalog editor is built for inspection, not for change. It answers "what does this company pay for this product?" well. It handles the jobs wholesale teams actually do badly:
- Raising every price in a catalog by 4% at renewal
- Giving one distributor a deeper discount across a product line
- Standing up a brand new catalog for a region you just opened
- Checking that no variant is priced below your landed cost
- Reconciling Shopify against the price list your sales team emails out
Every one of those is a spreadsheet operation. A percentage increase is a formula. A margin check is a conditional format. The gap between two catalogs is a subtraction column. None of them should be done by hand, one variant at a time, in a browser tab.
What the export looks like
SheetSync writes one row per variant and gives each catalog its own columns:
- Variant SKU and title so you know what you are looking at
- The retail price for reference
- A price and compare-at price column per catalog
Because it is a real sheet, every normal spreadsheet move is available.
A blanket increase
Add a working column with =ROUND(D2*1.04, 2), fill it down, paste the values back over the catalog column. A renewal that used to take an afternoon takes a minute.
Discounts driven off retail
Keep retail in one column and drive each catalog from it — =ROUND($C2*0.6, 2) for a 40% trade discount. Change the multiplier once and the whole catalog reprices.
Margin guardrails
Put landed cost in a column and conditionally format any catalog cell below cost * 1.15. Problem rows turn red before they ever reach a customer.
Catalog comparison
A simple =D2-F2 shows exactly where two catalogs diverge. That is the fastest way to catch a price that was adjusted for one account and never propagated to the others.
A brand new catalog
Copy an existing catalog's column, apply a new multiplier, sync. You have a complete regional price list without opening a single product page.
Step by step
- Open Pricing Sync in SheetSync and connect your Google account.
- Create or connect a pricing spreadsheet. SheetSync builds it with the right headers for your store's catalogs, so you are never guessing at column names.
- Export. Every variant and every catalog price lands in the sheet.
- Edit freely — formulas, filters, sorting, find and replace, or data pasted straight out of your ERP.
- Sync back. SheetSync diffs the sheet against your live catalogs and writes only what changed.
- Check the sync log for a record of what was written and anything skipped.
Practical notes
- Paste values, not formulas, into synced columns. Formulas are fine while you work; convert to values before syncing so the sheet and Shopify agree on literal numbers.
- Blank deletes, it does not disable. Clearing a catalog price cell removes that price (and its volume tiers), and the company location falls back to your retail price — it keeps selling, just not at a catalog price. A
0means free. Be deliberate about clearing cells. - Round currency yourself. Wrap percentage math in
ROUND(x, 2)so a price never arrives as 16.799999. - Stage large changes. Filter to one product line, sync, confirm in admin, then continue. A staged rollout is far easier to reverse than one 5,000-row write.
- Keep a dated copy. Duplicate the tab before a big change. That copy is your rollback and it costs nothing.
Who this is for
Wholesale and distribution stores where pricing is negotiated per account, brands running retail and trade side by side, and anyone whose price list already lives in a spreadsheet and gets re-keyed into Shopify by hand. If your sales team emails a price list, that price list and your B2B catalogs should be the same document.
Tiered wholesale pricing is handled the same way — see B2B volume pricing and quantity price breaks. Not on Shopify B2B yet? See wholesale pricing without Plus for the tag-based alternative.
